  • Change of Program Request
    If you would like to change your academic program (major), please follow the steps below to ensure your request is processed quickly and accurately.

    Before you start, Meet with your Advisor. Changing your program may affect:

    • Time to graduation
    • Financial aid eligibility
    • Course sequencing & transfer pathways

    An advisor will help you understand requirements and ensure the new program is a good fit.


    Review Program Requirements: Visit the ACC website or speak with your advisor to review:

    • Required courses
    • Selective admissions (if applicable)
    • Minimum GPA or placement requirements

    Review Watermark to verify you current major(s). Once you are ready to proceed, complete all required information below and click SUBMIT. Once submitted, your Advisor will reach out to verify your request and to ensure you have the information to make an informed decision. Updates might take 5-10 business days to take effect. If this form is submitted after the 16-week census date, it will take effect in the next semester.

  • Thank you for submitting the Change of Major form. Your request will now be routed to your Advisor for review and approval. Please be aware that your Advisor may reach out to confirm your goals and ensure you understand how this change could impact your accumulated credits, financial aid, or scholarships.

    If you are utilizing Financial Aid or Veterans Affairs benefits, we encourage you to contact those offices directly to determine how this change may affect your aid.

  • Advisor Instructions:

    1. Review the student’s submission to ensure all required fields are complete.
    2. Conduct outreach to the student (email, phone, or appointment) to:
      1. Confirm their academic and career goals
      2. Verify the intended new program
      3. Ensure the student understands program requirements and potential impacts (timeline, financial aid eligibility, transfer pathway, etc.)
    3. Confirm the program information:
      1. Current program name & code
      2. Requested new program name & code
    4. Document your conversation with the student in the designated notes section in Watermark..
    5. Submit the completed form for processing.
